《感动你一生的英文》读后感
鸡汤是需要经常喝的，不要指望喝一次就受用终生，励志文章也如是。就如同人体力不济时需要用鸡汤补一补一样，人的精神疲惫之时，也要读一读励志文章。把励志文章比喻成心灵鸡汤真是再恰当不过了。人在逆境时一般3个月需要喝一碗心灵鸡汤振作以下。
此书是给大学生的开拓视界启迪性读物，但是经历过人生跌宕的人还是能感受到它的心灵振奋作用。
1.Three days to see
一般的鸡汤文章读第一遍后就不要再读第二遍了，但是此文是要一生读50遍的。因为“海伦·凯勒是一个让我们自豪与羞愧的名字，她应该得到永世流传，以对我们的生命给予最必要的提醒 。”
此文是Helen居住在纽约的这幢房子里写的，文中提到了许许多多在宝贵的三天光明里，Helen愿意拿出两天用眼睛去看的纽约景点。On the second day of light, Helen首先要去New York Museum of Natural History 看自然和生物，然后要去the Metropolitan Museum去看人文艺术；Helen把能看到光明的最后一天也全部献给了纽约，她要去看她家附近的花、草、the awe-inspiring Empire State Building、the Fifth Avenue 的时装和Park Avenue的贫民窟。
Helen Keller House 当时在 93 Seminole Avenue, later renumbered 71-11 112th Street.
Helen 和她的老师1917-1938年曾在纽约这幢房子里居住过21年。该房子后来烧毁了。
我们看海伦的三天计划，简直同罗素（Betrand Russel）的Three passions 完全重合:
The longing for love, the search for knowledge and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind.
在三天光明的最后一天，Helen计划去看贫民窟和工厂。Some sights are pleasant, filling the heart with happiness; but some are miserably pathetic. To theses latter I do not shut my eyes, for they , too are part of life. To close the eye on them is to close the heart and mind. 善良的她始终关心着其他命运悲惨的人，这也就是为什么后来她成为了亲社会主义者。
海伦认为视力和听力丧失的悲剧往往发生在那些因贫困而无法给予孩子及时治疗的家庭。为了消除社会不平等引发的罪恶现象。海伦加入了美国社会主义党（Socialist Party of America）和国际产业工人协会IWW（Industrial Workers of the World），成为一名激进的社会主义者。
她曾著有《我是怎样成为一名社会主义者的》和《我为什么要加入 IWW》两篇文章解释自己的行为动机。但西方往往仅仅褒扬海伦·凯勒早年与疾病抗争的故事，而其成年后作为一名社会主义者的事实被故意忽略了。
每次读到以下海伦的文字都让我们这些普通人羞愧难当：
How was it possible , I asked myself, to walk for an hour through the woods and see nothing worthy of note? I who can not see find hundreds of things to interest me through mere touch.
Those who have eyes apparently see little.
It is a great pity that in the world of light the gift of sight is used only as a mere convenience rather than as a means of adding fullness to life.
The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.
2.Spring
作者把春天比作自己的孙子孙女，充满温情，精妙至极。
不禁想起朱自清的名篇《春》也把春天拟人为儿童：
小草偷偷地从土里钻出来，嫩嫩的，绿绿的。
春天像刚落地的娃娃，从头到脚都是新的，它生长着。春天像小姑娘，花枝招展的，笑着，走着。
对比之后发现，不得不说朱自清的比喻没有此英文作品的比喻更有画面感和感情充沛，汉语中应该有更好描写春的文章可以取而代之进入小学生课本目录的。
In other years, spring tiptoes in. It pauses, overcome by shyness, like my grandchild at the door, peeping in, ducking out of sight, giggling in the hallway. “I know you are out there,” I cry.” Come in !” And April slips into our arms.
3.如何给老人过生日？
如何回馈父母的爱？如何把父母的生日过得有意义？以下是绝好的方法。
I announced that everyone should tell Grandpa a story about why we loved about him. Words do matter, and they are enough. We just need to say them, to speak them publicly to the ones we love, for everyone else to hear. That is the way to give back love, and our chance to celebrate a person in life.
